In July of 2006 and again in July of 2010, we visited the St. Augustine Light House. Little did we know that in 2010, we would begin our paranormal research adventure, starting with this location.
In April of 2019, On her way up to the Parafest at Hotel Conneaut, Marianne spotted the Darrow Octagon House and decided to stop and take a look. She took some photos and recorded a video while at the location.
In July of 2016, we traveled to Key West, Florida, and one of our stops was at the Fort Zachary Taylor complex. At the time, we had no idea about this location and did find out until later on that it is haunted.
We were asked if we would like to investigate the Barnhisel House in Girard, Ohio by the Girard Historical Society. On February 17, 2019 we did just that; however, this time we did two investigations, two nights back to back.
In August of 2018, we finally got a chance to go over and tour the Strock Stone House in Austintown, Ohio. This is the building that sits next to the Meander Creek Reservoir that most people drive by every day and don't even realize it is there.
During our second visit to St. Augustine in July of 2010, Marianne looked around and booked us on a Ghost Tour (our second) that began at the Spanish Military Hospital in St. Augustine. During the day before the tour, we decided to go and take the day "historical" tour of the building. We now believe that Marianne had a paranormal experience while we were inside.
In July of 2013, we traveled to Washington, D.C. and took a tour of Ford's Theatre. Ford's Theatre is the location where John Wilkes Booth stepped into the Presidential box on April 14, 1865 and shot Abraham Lincoln in the back of the head as he was watching the play, Our American Cousin.
In July of 2013, we traveled to Washington, D.C. and stopped at Ford's Theater and the Petersen House across the street. The Peterson House is where President Abraham Lincoln took his last breath.
Starting in June of 2013, we have visited Hill View Manor in New Castle so many times that we cannot remember the actual count. We have investigated there, attended events there, put on a Halloween Party and Murder Mystery there, and even took a bus load of 50 people to investigate with us one night. Over the years, we have considered Hill View Manor to be our Second Paranormal Home.
In July of 2015, we traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and one of our stops was a the Eastern State Penitentiary. We schedule a day tour at the facility and were not prepared for what happened during the tour.
In July of 2015 we took a day trip out to Ligonier, Pennsylvania to visit the fort and stop and have some lunch. Little did we know what we would capture on recording during this visit.
During our Pre-Cana weekend in April of 2006, we stopped at Fallingwater on our way back home to have one of our first adventures together. We had a great time visiting this historical building, but did not find out the true history and its past until much later in our paranormal research.
Located on the grounds of Monticello is the Monticello Graveyard, and the final resting place of Thomas Jefferson. We visited this location in July of 2017 and payed our respects.
Sitting on the top of the hill in Harper's Ferry is the prominent St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church which we visited in July of 2017. This was the location where we all met for the Harpers Ferry Ghost walk.
In July of 2017, we traveled to Charlottesville, Virginia and headed up to the top of the mountain to visit the former home of the author of the Declaration of Independence and the third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson.
In November of 2008, we traveled to Memphis, Tennessee and one of the locations we stopped at was the famous Orpheum Theatre. Little did we know at the time, the story of the Little Mary who is believed to still visit the theater still today.
In July of 2015, we traveled to Philadelphia, and unfortunately did not get a chance to go inside Independence Hall, but we were able to visit outside of the building. It was surreal to walk on the same streets as and experience the building that our founding fathers used to create our Nation.
In June of 2018 we traveled to Madison, Ohio and participated in a group investigation of the Madison Seminary.
In June of 2018 we took part in a group investigation at the Madison Seminary, and we made sure to walk down a little ways from the building to pay our respects to Elizabeth Stiles. Elizabeth served as a spy for Abraham Lincoln, during the Civil War.
Located in Newton Falls, Ohio, which is the town where Shawn is from and both Shawn and Marianne work, is a covered bridge that dates back to 1831. We have been by and over this bridge on many occasions, but this blog is focused on the folklore of it being a "Cry Baby Bridge."
In November of 2015, we traveled to Fall River, Massachusetts and stopped by Maplecroft. Maplecroft was the home of Lizzie and Emma Borden after the they inherited the money from their murdered father Andrew.
The old Austintown Fitch High School was a building that stood in Austintown, Ohio. We have been to this location several times, and have heard from various members in the community about the paranormal activity that once took place in this building. The building was demolished, but we do have a piece of the building.
In June of 2017, we traveled to Dearborn, Michigan and visited Henry Ford's Greenfield Village. Located at the village is the actual Thomas Edison Menlo Park Laboratory which Henry Ford moved to the village in 1929.
In November of 2015, we traveled to Fall River, Massachusetts and spent the night at the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast after taking a tour of the entire building and learning more details about the events that took place on August 4, 1892.

From old store front Christmas displays to props from Christmas movies, this former church is packed full of items for everyone ages 9 to 92. We have visited this location twice so far, and are certain we will go back again sometime in the future.
