Visiting Fort Randolph

Updated: Sep 4, 2022

During our visit to Point Pleasant in July of 2019, one of the locations we had to find and visit was Fort Randolph. We found it, but, it was closed.

We still spent some time on the property taking a look around all of the placards on the grounds and were able to get some photos and video by looking through the slats in the fort's boards.

This fort is a reconstruction of the original fort that once stood where the town of Point Pleasant is located. It sits about 1 mile outside of town on Lighthouse Ln, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. You can check out the times of operation and more about special events that take place at the fort one the fort's website.

Like I mentioned in the opening paragraphs, when we arrived at the fort, we found that it was closed. We had to send in Travel Boris to get us some photos. Not really, we took photos inside the fort through the fence. This is why some of them are blurred on the sides.

Stationed by the road are several placards documenting the fort and there is also more information about Chief Cornstalk. We tried to piece the story all together by going to these different locations as we researched and investigation the Curse of Cornstalk and the legend of the Mothman.

If you would like to know more about the history of the fort, please check out our following paranormal history profile video.

Have you ever been to Fort Randolph? Did you know it was not reconstructed in its original location? Let us know in the comments below.
