During our visit to Point Pleasant in July of 2019, one of the locations we had to find and visit was Fort Randolph. We found it, but, it was closed.
This fort is a reconstruction of the original fort that once stood where the town of Point Pleasant is located. It sits about 1 mile outside of town on Lighthouse Ln, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. You can check out the times of operation and more about special events that take place at the fort one the fort's website.
Like I mentioned in the opening, when we arrived at the fort, we found that it was closed. We had to send in Travel Boris to get us some photos. Not really, we took photos inside the fort through the fence. This is why some of them are blurred on the sides.
Stationed by the road are several placards documenting the fort and there is also more information about Chief Cornstalk. We tried to piece the story all together by going to these different locations as we researched and investigation the Curse of Cornstalk and the legend of the Mothman.
