On Friday, September 20, 2019 we had the great pleasure of Kay and Matt from Happy Trails Hiking and Lori Bryant coming over and up to North East, Ohio to spend some time with us for the weekend. What a great time and adventure we had all weekend long.
Right before they left, we created a vlog for the weekend. You can check that out below, but also, make sure you check out Happy Trails Hiking on YouTube and their Blog Site.
As everyone was posting pictures about lunch on Friday, we had to post a picture of us as we were sitting and reading about how far they were away from arriving. Couldn't wait to get out of work and go and meet up with our friends.
Once we all got together and everyone got checked into their rooms, we loaded up and headed out for our adventures for the evening.
Even Trekker and Travel Boris where having some bonding time!
After driving through the park, our first stop was, Lanterman's Mill for a little tour (and some conditional hiking).
After driving around for a while, driving by some of the locations we have featured in our videos, we stopped at MoJo's for dinner.
It was a long day, so it was time to wrap things up for the evening. We set a time to get together again in the morning for breakfast, and we did at the Bob Evans close to their hotel. After breakfast, we headed out to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for some adventures for the day. The first stop, was the Brandywine Falls.
From there, we went farther down the trail and over to the Brandwine Falls, Inn. While we were walking on the trail, Marianne did turn on the Ovilus, and we had some interesting responses. We will be adding that to our future videos.
From there, we loaded back up in the car and headed over to find the Blue Hen Falls. This one was a little bit of a hike back into the woods, but wow, what an amazing location.
From here, we headed out to find some lunch. The place we decided on was the Winking Lizard Tavern. Great place and some awesome food. While we were having lunch, we were talking about the Peninsula Python, and decided to take a walk up to the library to get a picture.
On this walk, we past by the Boston Township Hall. This is an interesting looking building, so we thought that while we were there, we would get some pictures b-roll just in case we find out more information about this building in the future.
Next we stopped at a new haunted location that Lori actually found in some of her research. The Everett Covered bridge will be added to the database and we will be adding a video about this location in the future. Some interesting information about the bridge can be found here.
From here, we headed on over to Hale Farms. Here, there is so much to do and see. We witnessed a few demonstrations by park workers dress in period clothing and spent some time around the farm and village.
At the village, there are three houses Shawn wanted to stop at to get some more footage for future videos. They are already listed in the database.
The Herrick House.
The Jagger House.
The Goldsmith House.
Next, we decided to head over to the station at Indigo Lake to do our live stream, Let's talk Paranormal. Great choice for a location to go live, and everyone joined in on our stream. It was great. You can see the live stream below.
After the live stream, it was time to head back towards home and find a location for dinner. We all agreed on stopping at Mike's Place in Kent, Ohio.
We had such a great weekend with Kay, Matt, and Lori. It was sad to see it come to an end. We got to spend some time with great friends and share an adventures in the national park and stopping off on at some haunted locations for "Our Haunted Travels".
Please watch for the following videos and posts coming out in the future:
