In July of 2017, we took a trip down through Virginia, making several meaningful stops along the way, and one of the most important was our visit to Appomattox Court House. This small village holds an outsized place in American history as the location where the American Civil War effectively reached an end. Entering the grounds was akin to entering a timeless moment, imbued with the profound presence of history.

During our Haunted Ohio River trip in July 2019, we made a chilling detour on our journey home—one that had been on our list for years. Instead of heading straight back, we stopped at the infamous Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum to spend the day exploring its vast halls on a guided tour, eager to experience firsthand the history, atmosphere, and unsettling stories that surround this legendary institution.

It was a bright summer day in October, one of those rare afternoons when the seasons seem to overlap in perfect balance. The warmth of summer lingered in the air, yet the leaves around Kent, Ohio, were just beginning to shift toward their fall colors. On September 20, 2025, we headed out on an adventure to visit a few different locations. During our travels, the subject of Zoar Village having a Civil War reenactment weekend came up, so our group decided to go and check it out.

In July of 2025 we traveled to Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, Virginia. On our way back to our hotel, we found an intriguing location to stop and check out. The story of Archer's Hope is one of those locations that, if not for the historical marker, may be lost to the ages.

In July of 2006, we decided to have a wonderful adventure for our honeymoon. We embarked on an eighteen-day road trip from our home in Ohio to the East Coast, and then continued our journey all the way down to Florida. During this trip, we decided to take our time and see some wonderful locations. One of the wonderful locations we visited was the National Wright Brothers Monument in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina.

In June of 2025, we found ourselves once again in Fredericksburg, Virginia. During this visit, we decided to do a bit more research to identify some of the historical and haunted locations so that we made a point to stop at them all. One of these locations was the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop.

For years, visiting the USS Constellation in Baltimore has been on the Our Haunted Travels bucket list, and in June of 2025, it became a reality. We stopped by and spent some time roaming the different levels of the ship anchored right there in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

In July of 2019, we traveled to Moundsville, West Virginia, and one of our stops was at the Grave Creek Mound across the street from the West Virginia Penitentiary. After visiting the museum, we also took the time to climb the steps around the mound to reach its summit, which is almost 70 feet tall.

In June of 2025, we traveled to Fredericksburg, Virginia, once again, and this time made a point to visit and tour the final home of Mary Bell Washington, the mother of George Washington. We were at this location back in 2006 on our honeymoon but only drove by the location and did not tour. This time, we made it a point to stop and visit.

In April of 2025, we traveled to East Gustavus Cemetery in upper Trumbull County, Ohio, to pay our respects to Frances Maria Buel. This trip has been on our bucket list for some time; however, we needed to get it done to finish off our book before we participated in the upcoming paranormal conference.

Fells Point was our final stop during our walk (and Uber) in Inner Harbor, Baltimore. We wanted to go to this area to visit a location that is listed as one of the final stops of Edgar Allan Poe. We found even more history in the area when we were there.

While we were walking through Inner Harbor, Baltimore, in June 2025, we stopped at a location that had monuments related to the World Trade Center and September 11, and we decided to spend some time taking a closer look. Little did we know about the monuments and the building behind them until we did a little bit more research.

On June 4, 2025, we made the quarter-mile hike back to the location of the Ashtabula Train Disaster. It was a wonderful adventure and a location that has been on our bucket list for some time.

In September of 2025, we traveled to Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, and to the site of the May 4 Memorial museum. We also strolled around the tragedy's grounds, now recognized as a National Register of Historical Places.
