On July 8, 2019, we traveled to Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Our hotel of choice, of course the haunted Lowe Hotel that is located between the Mothman Museum and the Ohio River.
We arrived in town and the first place that we stopped was to check into our hotel and get a little refreshed from our drive. We drove to this location from Athens, Ohio in the morning, and just experienced an interesting drive through the mountains on some back gravel roads that our GPS decided to take us down. I truly believe that the GPS gets upset with me and picks these roads just to mess with me, but that is a different story.
Checking into the hotel was a very simple process. The staff that is there, are the actual owners who live in the hotel and once we told them they were were paranormal researchers, they offered to let us stay in the haunted captain's suite room. Yes, please!
The only thing that I didn't care for, what the rooms have window air conditioners. I understand this, this is an older hotel and I can imagine the costs involved to renovate and cool the entire building; however, when we got up to the second floor, it was quite stifling. We turned on the air conditioners in the room and shut the doors so that it would cool off while we ran around town. This was a good idea since it did cool things off for when we got back later, but we had to keep them running the whole time we where there. It was July, and quite warm out.

As I mentioned in the intro, this hotel is reportedly haunted. There are many reports that related to different paranormal or supernatural occurrences that happen, but most of the reports and what we determined that there is nothing evil or negative. We believe that the spirits that are there either enjoy their time at the Lowe, or their are some residual activity that is taking place. Especially with the story about the captain and the room that we stayed in. If you would like to find out more about the paranormal reports at the Lowe, please watch our following video.
We did spend a lot of time around town and going to different places, but also spent some time in the hotel as well. The night we stayed, Marianne did a video walk through and we tried to conduct an investigation in our room, but was not able to get great video of the investigation. For the first time ever, my cell phone which is what I always use as a documentation camera during an investigation over heated. All-in-all it was a nice stay at the hotel. It is a great place to chose if you are in Point Pleasant and would like to just park your car and walk everywhere. Also, if you are into the paranormal, the hotel is what we like to call "paranormal friendly," they just ask that you don't roam around the building after 10p.m. for respect of other guests. Not an issue for us since by then we were locked down in our suite doing an investigation in there.
